The immediate future is definitely not rosy for Tandy Sinclair in the opening pages of Sisters, Ink. She is summoned to her boss's office, sure she's going to have her head handed to her on a platter for bailing out on one of the firm's biggest clients. Instead, she's given a reprieve - a leave of absence which enables her to spend some much-needed time back hom in Stars Hill, Tennessee. Waiting for her there are her widowed father, three sisters who share her passion for scrapbooking, and the guy who broke her heart ten years before.
I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, especially since I don't know the first thing about scrapbooking. But I found myself drawn into Tandy's story and swept along as she finds the future God has in store for her by facing her past. The Tennessee small-town setting is realistic and vivid. I could taste the peanut butter buckeyes Tandy makes for her sisters' scrapbooking session, and my heart thumped to the beat of country music as Tandy stomps her boots to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." The sisters' relationships are fun, and though I wasn't a bit surprised by the romantic storyline, I was thoroughly satisfied to see it play out.
